Launceston Golf Club.
Founded in 1927. A very good and interesting Parkland course with many varieties of trees. The course is usually in superb condition with lush, green fairways. A golfing challenge with very pleasing views. Formerly the home of the Martini International. This one is a must for societies. Distance from the Penarvor 16 miles. Par 70, SSS 71, 6374 yards.
The Nicklaus Course St Mellion.
One of the finest Golf Courses in Europe designed by the master Jack Nicklaus, This one will prove an awe-inspiring test for all golfers. No visit to Cornwall is complete without playing the course. Distance from the Penarvor 35 miles. Par 72, SSS 72, 6626 yards.
The Old Course St Mellion.
This was the original Golf Course at St Mellion and provides a good Golfing challenge to high and low handicaps. This course is always in excellent conditon, with wide fairways and lovely views. Distance from the Penarvor 35 miles. Par 70, SSS 68, 5927 yards.
Bowood Park Golf Club.
You must play this lovely new Parkland course, built over what was once the deer park of the Black Prince, 26 lakes with over 3000 wildfowl are all part of the natural hazards. LIke all true championship courses Bowood features holes which "once played are seldom forgotten" GOLF MONTHLY gave it 10 out 10 on their last visit. Distance from the Penarvor 16 miles. Par 73, SSS 72, 6780 yards.
Holsworthy Golf Club.
This very good Parkland course founded in 1937 is ideal for those golfers who always find the bunkers (there are none) but do not be misled there are plenty of other hazards to get in the way of that elusive perfect Round! Distance from the Penarvor 7 miles. Par 69, SSS 69, 6025 yards.
Lanhydrock Golf Club.
Part Parkland and part Moorland, Lanhydrock is owned by the Bond Family who owned St Mellion. It is now becoming one of the more popular courses in Cornwall. Featuring numerous brooks and natural water hazards in addition to countless trees and shrubs, accuracy is a premium but well placed shots always rewarded with a good opportunity for a birdie. Distance form the Penarvor 30 miles. Par 71, SSS 70, 6242 yards.
Okehampton Golf Club.
Why not play this one on the way home! A good Moorland founded in 1913. A fairly short but challenging course with lovely views over Dartmoor. Distance from the Penarvor 30 miles. Par 67m SSS 67, 5300 yards.
Royal North Devon (Westward Ho).
Any one with an interest in the History of Golf should not miss a visit to the Royal North Devon Course founding in 1863 . It is one of the oldest links courses in England and the home of the first Ladies Golf Club in the world in 1868. This long but fairly flat course is a must for any Golfer. The Club House is a museum of golf and well worth a visit. Distance from the Penarvor 22 miles. Par 72, SSS 72, 6662 yards.
St Enodoc (The Church Course).
This beautiful course originally laid out by James Braid is a real golfing experience, It is the only club in Britain which has a 12th century church in the middle of the course and also boasts the largest sand bunker in the world, called the Himalayas, which rises a full 60ft from the fairway on the 6th hole. John Betjeman wrote his famous poem about the club when he was a Poet Laureate and is today buried at the tiny church. (handicap Certificate must be Shown Ladies 28 and below and Gentleman 24 and below). Distance from the Penarvor 33 miles. Par 69, SSS 70, 6207 yards.
Oake Manor (Taunton).
Founded 1993. Nestling between the Quanntock, Brandon and Black Down Hills. Oake Manor is located in some of Somersets most beautiful countryside. A series of lakes and a trout stream run through this Parkland course creating water hazards on 10 of the 18 holes. Situated just 10 minutes from the M5 (junction 26) this course is ideally situated to play either on the way to our from the Penarvor. Distance from the Penarvor 85 miles. SSS 69, 6109 yards.
Saunton Sands Golf Club.
Founded in 1897 this Championship course was venue for the 1988 Bradazon Trophy and the 1994's English Ladies Open. What a lovely course and well worth the drive. Distance form the Penarvor 45 miles. Par 71, SSS 73, 6703 yards.
Roserrow Golf and Country Club.
A blend of relatively gentle holes on the lower hills where you will appreciate the lovely views of Hayle Bay and Puffin Island to the more testing demands of Merlins Valley a delightful tree lined valley where river and water predominate. There is also a gymnasium and swimming pool. Distance from the Penarvor 26 miles. Par 72, 6500 yards.
Woodbury Park Golf Club.
Set in 500 acres of Devonshire Countryside. Designed and built by J. Hamilton-Stutt. This Championship course incorporates lakes, woodland and some heathland with an abundance of wildlife. European specification greens which are renowned for their quality. Distance from the Penarvor 55 miles. Par 72, 6870 yards.
Trethorne Golf Club.
Trethorne's excellent existing 9 holes (voted probably the best in the country by Fore Magazine) has now been extended and complemented by a further 9 holes which many members consider to be even better. It now deserves to be recognised by ourselves and to be featured in our package. Set in glorious Cornish countryside of outstanding natural beauty. Par 71, 6438 yards.
